Program Faces Tough Challenge
They waited as long as possible… but, this week the Leadership Gwinnett Board finally succumbed to the challenge of meeting steadily increasing costs by agreeing to raise tuition from $2,600 to $3,000. Tuition has remained the same since 2006. A program as strong as Leadership Gwinnett merits the additional resources required. Feel free to contact Gail Macrenaris with questions.

There are those in the community who have made significant contributions to enhance the quality of life in Gwinnett through their service, volunteerism and commitment. Their efforts have made Gwinnett a better place to live and work. They’ve improved our education, medical and public service communities. They are truly the most awe-inspiring citizens among us.
Three of these citizens being awarded this Friday evening are proud graduates of the Leadership Gwinnett program!

- Public Service Award: Tammy Shumate, Brand Mortgage, from the class of 1997

Alumni News
Dave Williams, Class of 2000, was recently selected to lead transportation efforts at the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. As the current Mayor of Suwanee, Dave began his job as a vice president on the chamber’s public policy team on January 3rd.
Dave said he will serve out his city term in 2011, but likely won’t seek re-election in the fall. The appointment will mean Williams will play a major role in selling a regional transportation sales tax referendum in 2012 to voters. Congratulations to one of our own!
